When we mention career management we refer to the process of managing one’s career either as a career path or managing welcome and planed career changes or unanticipated and unwelcome career related crises.

Career counselling may assist the professional while he or she is planning ahead to advance in his or her career and provides emotional support while the individual is making it happen for themselves. It also offers support in dealing with a variety of work-related stresses and other issues that place a burden on the individual in his or her work setting.

Career counselling may also support the individual in dealing with unanticipated changes in work-related circumstances and managing career-related crises such as redundancy, unemployment, emigration.
