Health
What is health?
How do we define it?
What does it mean to be healthy?
How do we know we are healthy?
Is it merely the lack of illness or disease? Or is it something wider?
WHO defines health as the extent to which an individual is able to realise aspirations and safety needs and to change or cope with the environment. Health is a resource for everyday life, not the objective of living: it is a positive concept emphasizing social and personal resources as well as physical capacities.
Health may be seen as a balance of physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual dimensions of a person.
Therefore questions arise such as the following:
How do I take care of my healthy self?
What motivates me to take care of myself? Is it fear of avoiding an unpleasant future? Or is it the need to seek a happier life full of energy?
